Mo Chang

Mo Chang is the owner and President/CEO of Mo's Tropical Wholesale Inc and Mo’s Tropical LLC, tropical fruits and produce wholesale and retail companies located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mo’s Tropical Wholesale is the largest tropical fruits and Asian vegetables wholesale in Minnesota. Ms. Chang also created and owns the Chang Building Company which purchases real estate property and uses them to house businesses including Mo's Tropical Wholesale which seek to serve the niche needs of the community. Ms. Chang recently established the Chang Foundation with a goal to have the foundation fulfill her passion to serve the community. Prior to her business endeavors, Ms. Chang spent more than 30 years of her career in public education. Ms. Chang served staff, parents and students for several decades with Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS). Ms. Chang served on the senior management team of SPPS as the district’s charter school liaison and special projects coordinator in the office of the superintendent. Ms. Chang is the founder and former superintendent of the Community School of Excellence (CSE) charter school located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Early in its inception, Ms. Chang was instrumental in developing CSE to be the first Hmong language and culture IB world school in the nation. Ms. Chang built CSE from the ground up with 176 students at its creation and within 10 years, led it to serve 1,000 students. Her accomplishments and recognitions include: -SBA Minority Small Business Champion of the Year – 2024 -Business Impact Recognition 2024 – Minnesota Hmong Chamber of Commerce -Immigrant Spirit Award 2023 - Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit Annual National Award -Member of former St. Paul Mayor Kelly’s delegation to Thailand to assess the Hmong in Wat Tham Krabok refugee camp for resettlement in the United States -Former planner of the HND Pre-Conferences for Educators -Co-founder and member of the Hmong Professional Networking Group -Co-founder of Hmong Resource Resource Fair -Developed first USDA approved Hmong school menu -Developed first public school Hmong Language and Culture Program at Phalen Lake Elementary Ms. Chang holds a B.A. in Public Administration from Metropolitan State University and an M.A. in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University. Ms. Chang finished course work for the doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Saint Mary's University. She also holds a K-12 principal and superintendent license.
