Michael Cherwayia Thao, CEO/President of Generational Financial Group, Inc. founded in 2008. Generational Financial Group (GFG) is an independent marketing company that offers financial products and services with a mission to help one family at a time to have a “Proper Protection with Full Coverage” toward building wealth for generations. GFG is a nationwide company.
Michael Cherwayia Thao came to Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1978. He resided in Minnesota ever since. Thao graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Minor in Mathematic and Physic in 1991, Augsburg College. Through out Thao’s life, he is a businessman, a community and political activist. Thao currently served as a Treasurer/Fundraising Chair/History Book Chair of MN Hmong/Lao Veterans Statue Committee to establish a monument to remember the falling soldiers in the “Secret War” in Laos. Thao lead a campaign fundraising team, raised more than $230,000 from the community, local businesses and organizations and $450,000 from the State of Minnesota Bonding Bills to build the monument. The History Book is the collection of personal story during the war is completed, 08/2023.
Michael Cherwayia Thao is a business oriented person. His passion is generational wealth by helping one family at a time. He owns several businesses (Generational Financial Group, Inc., Partners Enterprise Realty, LLC. Broker/Developer, Generational Properties, Inc.)
Michael Cherwayia Thao is a Real Estate Broker and Developer. He partnered with JB Vang to develop a 60 units apartment complex, PARKWAY APARTMENT, completed in January 20th, 2022. It is fully occupy. It is an affordable housing using Tax Credit money from the government with private funds. The project initiated communication with the City of Saint Paul to develop the project in 2018. It took 3 years working relationship with the City of Saint Paul. Break Ground in January 2021.
Michael Cherwayia Thao is a community and political activist. He was a co-founder of Hmong Chamber of Commerce, Hmong American DFL Caucus. He is current a Radio Host at Hmong Minnesota Broadcast and TV Host at 3Hmong TV.
