Hmong Committee of 100 Hosts Veterans Day 2024 Celebration to Honor Hmong Veterans

Community Gathers to Recognize the Sacrifices of Hmong Soldiers Who Served in the Secret War in Laos, Alongside U.S. Forces during the Vietnam War

Saint Paul, MN – November 11, 2024 – The Hmong Committee of 100, a national non-partisan 501(c)(4) organization, proudly organized a Veterans Day celebration on Monday, November 11, 2024, to honor and recognize the extraordinary contributions of Hmong veterans—especially those who bravely served alongside U.S. forces during the Vietnam War.

Held in Minnesota, where the Committee plays a prominent role in civic leadership and cultural advocacy, the event brought together veterans, families, and community members for a meaningful tribute. The program featured ceremonial honors, speeches, and moments of reflection to commemorate the sacrifices and heroism of Hmong soldiers.

The Hmong Committee of 100 was founded in 2024 by a group of Hmong American professionals and leaders from across sectors—academia, business, government, science, law, and the arts—who recognized the urgent need to advance the political, economic, and social development of the Hmong community. Through collective leadership and public engagement, the Committee seeks to preserve and elevate the legacy of Hmong contributions to American history.

“Honoring our veterans is not just a duty—it is a sacred responsibility to ensure their legacy is never forgotten,” said a Committee representative during the program.

The event underscored the Committee’s commitment to uplifting the Hmong community, promoting historical awareness, and advocating for veteran recognition at both state and national levels.
